Handy Hints (supplied by customers) If you have a tip you would like to share,or a picture of your installation please mail us we are always delighted to hear from you.
Always remember to overhang the top sheet to allow for the thickness of the front profile. The sheet should overhang the profile by approximately 2mm.This gives a really neat eyeline to the finished top.
It's also neater to mitre the front profiles on a corner rather than a "butt" joint and it also saves polishing the end of the profile.(Stan,Kent)
Upstands
These really add the finishing touch and are easy to fit. They also allow for a gap between the Granite sheet and the wall which helps if the wall is not perfectly straight and gives you more tolerance with the overhang. They can also be used as front strips when fitting an appliance as they have a polished long edge.(Andrew Keir Scotland)

There are two options when fitting an appliance such as a Hob. (Peter Smyth Durham)
Strip method.
You must have an upstand pack containing 1000 x 75mm strips with a polished edge.Following the pictures as shown simply cut the strip to length with the polished edge to the front.
Cut-out method
Take a full sheet and mark on the back of the sheet the dimension of the hole required.Simply cut out with the Diamond blade,it's not as difficult as you think.

Levelling sheets (M.Ansell Beckenham)
In most cases the sheets are easy to level but if you do experience problems simply drill 4 holes through the MDF from the underneath to suit the corners of the sheet.Insert a screw in each hole and gently adjust the sheet make sure the sheet is secure and does not rock.

Jointing Compound (Des Bevan Warwickshire)
Always apply a strip of masking tape approximately 5mm each side of the joint before jointing. After applying the compound wait until it's just started to harden and peel off the tape and remove the surplus compound. Its best to only fill and complete one joint at a time

Using an Upstand strip to form a shelf

The standard Upstand strip can be used to form a shelf and given depth by incorporating a Downstand strip
