Granite Kitchen Worktops and why they are great.

Granite kitchen worktops could be ideally suited for your kitchen and bathroom requirements. To help you decide we have prepared some guidelines. Granite kitchen worktops have a polished surface which will retain its polish and colour for a great many years and the only maintenance required is regular washing with clean, hot, soapy water to remove surface dirt. Spillages such as wines, oils and acidic substances should be wiped clean immediately to prevent the possibility of staining. Granite kitchen worktops are highly heat resistant and hot pans can be placed directly on the surface for short periods making it ideal in the kitchen. As with any high quality granite worktops, care should be taken against possible scoring of granite worktops with knives or other cutting tools and chopping-boards should always be used.

Slate Tiles: a scientific explanation.
Slate Tiles is a variably spread across the world and is and widely-occurring type of Igneous intrusive rock. The usual colour for Slate Tiles is either white or a light buff colour, and the rock is often coarsely grained or medium coarsely grained. Slate Tiles occasionally occurs with some individual crystals larger than the groundmass forming a rock known as porphyry. Slate Tiles occur in the earth crust in many different colour depending on the mineralogy and geology of the surrounding are. They can occur in pinks, yellows, and even blacks. Slate Tiles is a hard rock and as such it usually forms a TOR or other wise know as rounded massifs that protrude from the surrounding soil. Tors occur as terrains of rounded boulders cropping out of flat, sandy soils. Slate Tiles sometimes occur in circular depressions surrounded by a range of hills, formed by the metamorphic aureole or hornfels. Slate Tiles [except where sever heat degradation has occurred] is always massive, hard and tough, and it is for this reason it has gained widespread use as a construction stone in things like granite worktops or buildings. The average density of Slate Tiles is 2.75 g/cm3; with a range of 1.74 to 2.80. The word Slate Tiles comes from the Latin granum, a grain, in reference to the coarse-grained structure of such a crystalline rock. Read more about Slate Tiles...

Tiles and what they mean for your home.

A tile is a human made piece of hard-wearing material such as ceramic, clay, stone, porcelain, metal or even glass. Limestone Tiles are used for many things but usually they are generally used as a layer for roofs, floors, and walls, or other parts of you home such as tabletops or toilet floors.. The word TILE comes from the French word `tuile`, which is, in turn, from the Latin word tegula, meaning a roof tile composed of baked clay. Less precisely, the word TILE can refer to any sort of construction tile or similar object, such as rectangular counters used in playing games (see tile-based game). Limestone Tiles are often used to form wall and floor coverings, and can range from simple square Limestone Tiles to complex mosaics. Limestone Tiles are most often made from ceramic, with a hard glaze finish, but other materials are also commonly used, such as glass, slate, and reformed ceramic slurry, which is cast in a mould and fired. Roof Limestone Tiles are `hung` from the framework of a roof by fixing them to slats with specific tile nails. The Limestone Tiles are usually hung in parallel rows, with each row overlapping the row below it to exclude rainwater and to cover the nails that hold the row below. There are also roof Limestone Tiles for special positions, particularly where the planes of the several pitches meet. They include ridge, hip and valley Limestone Tiles.
